Tianjin is the fourth largest city in China by population, and the biggest port in Northern China. It's home to many Fortune 500 and multinational companies, and has a thriving international community.
Ex-pats find Tianjin to be an extremely livable city. It has all of the amenities from home including fantastic shopping malls, western restaurants, coffee shops, nightclubs, and pubs. Wu Da Dao (Five Big Roads), Italian Style Town, and the Hai River are home to beautiful European style architecture and stunning views. In fact, Tianjin has more classic Italian sculptures than anywhere outside Italy.
Tianjin has a modern and efficient subway system that includes four lines, and getting around by taxi, Uber, or bicycle is very easy. Beijing is only a 32-minute journey by high-speed rail, and Tianjin is a transport hub for travel to many other locations throughout China.
In spite of all this, rent and living costs are low, so living in Tianjin combines a perfect blend of "Old" and "New" China!
